Abstract The basal section of the lower Albian Barra Nova Group in the onshore portion of the Regencia Platform, a central-eastern geological province of the Espirito Santo Basin, Brazil, comprises a mixed succession characterized by the cyclic alternation of dominant fluvial to shallow marine, siliciclastic rocks and marine carbonate strata. The geological record of orbital-driven cycles in a succession ofthe upper Miocene carbonate rocks present in the Santos Basin, sotheastern Brazil, were studied in detail using geophysical logs, seismic sections, isotopic and biostratigraphic data. Spectral analyses performed on gamma-ray revealed 5 cycles interpreted to be related to eccentricity (100 and 410 ka), the time span of that carbonated deposits were estimated 2.05 Ma following an accumulation rate that ranges from 18.8 to 28.1 cm/ka....

A cyclostratigraphic analysis was carried out on a Cenomanian-Turonian sedimentary succession sampled in the well 530A of Deep Sea Drilling Project.
