Abstract Thin 130 Te target foils of thickness 139- 260 μ g /cm 2 have been prepared on 12 C backing using resistive evaporation technique for sub-barrier fusion studies in heavy-ion induced nuclear reactions. A steeper fall of fusion excitation function, compared to the predictions of coupled-channels models, at energies below the lowest barrier between the reaction partners, is termed as deep sub-barrier fusion hindrance.
