Phoracantha recurva,_Newman, 1840, is a beetle native to Australia. Adults of this species have a bright body, with dark brown and yellow to cream areas on the elytra, antennae as long or longer than the body, pronotum with discs or protuberances on the back, and lateral spines; elytra with at least one spine or process in the apical margin. Columnar cacti are distributed naturally in arid and semi-arid zones of America. Almost 50% are found in Mexico, were 45 species have been used for 8,500 years and currently are commercialized in regional or international markets. Se realizaron colectas selectivas de escarabajos asociados durante el proceso de descomposicion cadaverica de mamiferos. We present a study on the carrion beetles of the families Scarabaeidae, Silphidae, and Trogidae from the areas surrounding Villa Juarez, Asientos, Aguascalientes, Mexico. Four sites with three types of habitat were selected: agricultural land; riparian forest; and xerophytic scrub 1 and xerophytic scrub 2. We analyzed the influence of humidity, temperature, and temporal and elevational distribution on the composition, abundance, and richness of rove beetle assemblages captured with carrion traps in a Quercus L. forest, Cerro de Garcia, Jalisco, Mexico.
