The goal of this study was to develop a fluorescent based loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assay for a simple, sensitive and visual detection of P. infestans from tubers targeting a novel internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS-1) region of ribosomal DNA. A reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) assay was developed for detection of potato virus X (PVX) targeting coat protein gene.
