Tin dioxide nanoparticles (SnO2 NPs) were synthesized by sol-gel method using comparatively less toxic reducing agent. The SnO2 NPs exhibits high surface area (128 m2/g) as calculated from BET nitrogen adsorption data. The microporous tin dioxide nanoparticles (SnO2 NPs) were synthesized by sol–gel method using isopropyl alcohol exhibit high surface area (128 m2/g). Abstract Cyclophanediene (CPD)-dihydropyrene (DHP) is a negative T-type photochrome pair having a thermodynamically stable colored form, i.e., DHP. The anatase TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized by the reduction of titanium isopropoxide at pH 4.5. The surface area, pore size and pore volume were found to be 156.9 m2/g, 18.23 A and 0.071 cm3/g respectively. The crystallite size calculated by Debye Sherrer’s equation was found 8.1 nm.
