Mammary adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is a rare subtype of breast cancer with a favorable prognosis. Here we report on predictors of outcome based on a detailed morphologic review and analysis of 108 mammary ACC. Sixty-four tumors (59.2%) were pure conventional ACC, 23 (21.3%) were pure basaloid AC

Mismatch repair-deficient (d-MMR) tumours have been reported to show susceptibility to immune checkpoint inhibitors targeting programmed death-1/PD ligand-1 (PD-1/PD-L1). In this study, we sought to correlate the association of d-MMR, PD-L1 and CD8 expression in muscle invasive, high-grade urothelial carcinoma (HGUC) of bladder. A tissue microarray (TMA) was constructed from 201 cases and sequentially stained with PD-L1, CD8, MSH2, MSH6, MLH1 and PMS2. PD-L1 was assessed in tumour and immune cel...

Polymorphous adenocarcinoma (PAC) and cribriform adenocarcinoma of (minor) salivary gland (CASG) are salivary gland tumors with overlapping spectrum of morphology. Whether these represent distinct entities or a histologic spectrum of the same tumor remains contentious. PACs harbor recurrent PRKD1 E710D hotspot mutations in >70% of cases, whereas 80% of CASGs display rearrangements involving PRKD1, PRKD2, or PRKD3 (PRKD1/2/3). We studied the molecular and morphologic features of 37 PACs/CASGs, se...

Abstract Background and Aims Metastasis to the gastrostomy site in patients with upper aerodigestive tract (UADT) malignancies is a rare but devastating adverse event that has been poorly described. Our aim was to determine the overall incidence and clinicopathological characteristics observed with development of gastrostomy site metastasis in patients with UADT cancers. Methods Systematic review and meta-analysis of 6,138 studies retrieved from MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, and the Cochrane Register...

Abstract Background Multifocality in papillary thyroid carcinoma is common. The aim of this study is to determine whether patients with multifocal disease, treated with lobectomy alone, have an increased risk of contralateral lobe papillary thyroid carcinoma, regional recurrence, and poorer survival. Methods After institutional review board approval, papillary thyroid carcinoma patients managed from 1986 to 2015 with lobectomy alone were identified from an institutional database. Papillary thyro...
