We aimed to compare the effects of amifostine (AMI) and L-carnitine (LC) in prevention of radiation induced cardiac injury. Sixty-four rats were divided into 6 groups: Control (CONT), radiotherapy (RT), AMI+RT, LC+RT, and LC. The animals in RT groups received 15 Gy/fraction by 6 MV photon, to the cardiac area.
