ABSTRACTPoly(ether esters) are rapidly synthesized in moderate yield employing the interfacial polycondensation reaction system from the reaction of alpha-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid and Group IVB metallocenes. The products are high polymers. Infrared spectroscopy shows the formation of new bands derived from the M-O and M-O(CO) linkages. Polyesters derived from the interfacial reaction of the salt of chelidonic acid and triphenylarsenic dibromide, triphenylantimony dichloride, and triphenylbismuth dichloride are formed in moderate yield using commercially available reactants. In this study, organotin polyesters have been formed from the interfacial reaction between the disodium salt of chelidonic acid and a variety of organotin dihalides. Reactions occur rapidly within less than 15 seconds. Yields vary from moderate to high, and chain length varies from 30 to 800 repeat units.
