Abstract The reaction of [Ag(PPh 3 ) 3 Cl] 1 with SnCl 2 followed by recrystallization of the product led to the isolation of tetrameric chloro(triphenylphosphine)silver(I) [Ag 4 (PPh 3 ) 4 Cl 4 ] 2 . The dual reagent combination of 2 -SnCl 2 show moderate catalytic activity in multicomponent coupling reactions involving C H activation.

Abstract Flow chemistry enables the preparation of bis(indolyl)methanes from various indoles and structurally divergent aldehydes using Sc(OTf) 3 catalysis. The reaction is regioselective for C-3 functionalization of the indoles, occurring over short reaction times allowing for rapid investigation of scope with straightforward work up facilitating product isolation.

A Ni(OAc)2/Ag(OTf) catalysed coupling of aryl alkynes and propargylic alcohol/ether/ester gave the corresponding unsymmetrical 1,3-diynes in good to excellent yields. The reaction does not require bases, ligands or additives and shows excellent hetero-selectivity, thereby addressing the current challenges in the field of coupling of two different terminal alkynes.

Abstract The N-alkylation of amines, and amides with benzyl alcohols is catalyzed by bimetallic catalyst [Pd(COD)(SnCl 3 )Cl] in o -xylene. The reaction does not require additional base, additive or ligand, and is insensitive toward air and moisture and involves minimal work-up. These features make the reaction attractive, simple, and practical.

Abstract Using a combination of density functional theory and many-body GW corrections, we calculate the quasiparticle band gap of bulk α -HgS and investigate the effect of quantum confinement on the geometric, electronic and optical structures. Abstract Facile insertion reaction of SnCl 2 across pentamethylcyclopentadienyl complexes of Ir(III) and Rh(III) resulted in the formation of Ir–SnCl 3 and Rh–SnCl 3 heterobimetallic complexes.
