Liver X receptors limit cellular lipid uptake by stimulating the transcription of inducible degrader of the low-density lipoprotein receptor (IDOL), an E3 ubiquitin ligase that targets lipoprotein receptors for degradation. The function of IDOL in systemic metabolism is incompletely understood. Here we show that loss of IDOL in mice protects against the development of diet-induced obesity and metabolic dysfunction by altering food intake and thermogenesis. Unexpectedly, analysis of tissue-specif...

Immune cells are vital constituents of the adipose microenvironment that influence both local and systemic lipid metabolism. Mice lacking IL10 have enhanced thermogenesis, but the roles of specific cell types in the metabolic response to IL10 remain to be defined. We demonstrate here that selective loss of IL10 receptor α in adipocytes recapitulates the beneficial effects of global IL10 deletion, and that local crosstalk between IL10-producing immune cells and adipocytes is a determinant of ther...

Accurate approximation of the sampling distribution of nonparametric kernel density estimators is crucial for many statistical inference problems. Since these estimators have complex asymptotic distributions, bootstrap methods are often used for this purpose. With i.i.d. observations, a large literature exists concerning optimal bootstrap methods which achieve the fastest possible convergence rate of the bootstrap estimator of the sampling distribution of the kernel density estimator. With depen...

Abstract Background The relationship between in-hospital coronary revascularization rate (CRR) and post-discharge mortality rates in survivors of non–ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) at a system level is unclear. Objectives The purpose of this study was to evaluate CRR and 2-year post-discharge mortality rate (2YMR) in NSTE-ACS. Methods CRR and 2YMR were analyzed by hospital rate of CRR (in deciles), by country, and by world region in 11,931 patients with NSTE-ACS who surv...

There are limited data regarding the impact of asymmetric stent expansion on subsequent stent coverage and neointimal hyperplasia (NIH) in the contemporary drug-eluting stent era. EGO-BIOFREEDOM (BioFreedom stent in 105 lesions, 99 pts) and EGO-ORION (randomized Resolute vs BioMatrix stent in 119

There is little data regarding the impact of stent edge landing zone morphology by optical coherence tomography (OCT) on stent edge restenosis. The ORION study included 120 lesions (60 patients) imaged by OCT after stent placement and at 9-month follow-up (FU). Post-stent OCT imaging was available
