Abstract Innovations in business models involve a dynamic process that makes business values resilient against market and technology changes. We propose a schema that supports predicting the effect of innovation on business model values. The schema redefines the value proposition logic in business model innovations with five primary variables: business dependence structure, business value dominance, innovation dynamics, innovation domains, and innovation-resources-agility. Based on the schema, w...

Abstract Business model innovation purports to create new business values in uncharted market ecologies. In addressing questions of how business contexts can shape and impose urgency on business model innovation, this research reviews and puts forth five classes of contextual antecedents, namely, business eco-networks, the business actors' behavioral orientation, mastery of technology, rules and governance, and business complexity. The research also posits that the configurations of these contex...

Colour fading is now a popular process used for imparting a vintage look to textile and fashion products, which enhances market value because of the current fashion trends. This study examined a non-aqueous colour fading process with the use of oxygen plasma-induced ozone treatment. An industrial scale machine and commercially available red sulpur-dyed cotton fabric (with 0.5 %, 1.5 % and 2.5 % colour depths) were used in this study. Since the colour fading process factors are inter-related to e...

Abstract Central to the value co-creation business model is mutualistic interaction, through which business value producers propose offers and affirm the final meaning of offering values with customer experience. The model treats each upstream offering of value production merely as a part of value proposition (Gronroos, 2011; Vargo, 2008). Thus, the interaction becomes a locus, key source of value co-creation. Contemporary literature on interactive marketing and service research contain a myriad...

Abstract The study draws on the prevalent theories for orchestrating cross-organizational innovation and new knowledge development processes, and proposes a new, epistemic perspective for contextualizing innovation with two management dimensions, namely, innovation complexity and innovation orchestration preconditions. Innovation complexity concerns the indeterminacy or contingency of new knowledge, or new competence, to be pursued during the course of organizational innovation. Innovation orche...

Collaboration indicates management intention for new competence and knowledge development by collective and inter-supportive means. From a pragmatic point of view, business organizations see collaboration as an opportunity for new competitiveness and efficiency, and public authorities also perceive collaboration as a means to prescribe unified solutions to social issues. Beyond these pragmatic views, academics' conceptions of collaboration give rise to categories of theoretic paradigms for strat...

Abstract This study investigates tourist consumption responses toward tourism innovation. To measure tourist responses, this study posits three key consumption drivers, namely social esteem, desire for experiential travel, and avoidance against rituality of tourism settings (a subscale of need for uniqueness) and models consumers’ affective response within the context of tourism innovation. It involves 295 respondents in an empirical survey. The findings affirm the three drivers toward tourist c...
