Abstract An approach was developed to enhance the efficiency for the bioconversion of 1-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(methyamino)-ethanone to ( R )-phenylephrine. The strain Serratia marcescens N10612, giving the benefit of 99% enantiomeric excess in ( R )-PE conversion, was used. Abstract In this study, a dry assay of l -lactate via the enzymatic chromatographic test (ECT) was developed. Abstract Serratia marcescens N10612, isolated from soil culture, was found to produce the bio-active prodigiosin isoform pigment (PIP) through nutrition tests. The complex medium consisting of sucrose, peptone and yeast extract was found to be the best composition for PIP production. The optimization of PIP production was carried out by using statistical experiment designs. Abstract In this study, exopolysaccharides (EPS) produced from Hypocreales sp. NCHU01 was carried out in the submerged cultivation. To find the optimal conditions, factors such as carbon and nitrogen source concentrations, pH, temperature, magnesium ion, and potassium ion levels were considered. The results showed that the optimal conditions were as follows: sucrose, yeast extract, magnesium sulfate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate were 10.6 g/L, 10.92 g/L, 1.0 g/L and 1.01 g/L, respectively. ...

Abstract Various immobilized metal ions affinity membranes (IMAMs) were prepared from the regenerated cellulose membrane (RC membrane) and chelated with various metal ions such as Co 2+ , Ni 2+ , Cu 2+ and Zn 2+ .
