We consider energy harvesting communications over an intersymbol interference (ISI) channel corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise. We assume that the energy arrivals at the transmitter, which is equipped with a finite battery, are independent and identically distributed, and provide a method of computing achievable information rates with channel inputs selected from a finite alphabet. We propose an irregular repetition slotted ALOHA (IRSA) based uncoordinated random access scheme for energy harvesting (EH) nodes. We investigate cognitive interference channels (CICs), a variant of two-user ICs in which one of the transmitters (called the cognitive transmitter) has non-causal knowledge of the other’s (private user’s) message. We study wireless collaborative machine learning (ML), where mobile edge devices, each with its own dataset, carry out distributed stochastic gradient descent (DSGD) over-the-air with the help of a wireless access point acting as the parameter server (PS).
