Abstract The 4-aminomethylene-2-benzyl-4H-oxazol-5-one (1) and the benzylpenicillic acid (2) were obtained as degraded or re-arranged derivatives of Penicillin G (PenH), which have been treated with silver nitrate. The products were characterized by their melting point, 1H-NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. These alterations might be the etiology of penicillin deactivation.

Abstract Organotins(IV) exhibit significant in vitro anti-proliferative activity, while the in vivo tests are encouraging. Abstract The interaction of Cu(II) ions with the peptide Ac-GYDVEK-amide (N and C-terminal protected), a well conserved sequence located at N-terminal of the globular domain of somatic histone H1 variants (H1.1–H1.5) was studied by means of potentiometry and spectroscopic techniques. Abstract The new mixed ligand palladium(II) complex of formula cis-Cl- [PdCl 2 (TPP)(MTUC)]·3(H 2 O) ( 1 ) was obtained by reacting 6-methyl-thiouracil (MTUC) with triphenylphosphine (TPP).
