Abstract Two dimensional temperature and concentration distributions are important parameters for pulverized coal combustion used for power plant to understand the combustion field and develop the high efficient combustion technologies. However, it is difficult to measure two dimensional temperature and concentration in pulverized coal combustion field using conventional measurement technologies because pulverized coal combustion produces lots of dust and strong emission from its flame. This pap...

The measurement of temperature and species concentrations in combustion fields is very significant to develop the high-efficient combustion technologies for energy conservation and emission reduction. There are various measurement technologies including contact and non-contact measurement. Tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) technology is a proven non-contact method to detect the temperature and species concentrations by absorption measurement. To enable two-dimensional (2D) repr...

Abstract The investigation of combustion phenomena in pulverized coal flames is significant for combustion optimization related to energy conservation and emission reduction. Real-time two dimensional (2D) temperature and concentration distributions play an important role for combustion analysis. The non-contact and fast response 2D temperature and concentration distribution measurement method was developed in this study. The method is based on a combination of computed tomography (CT) and tunab...

Methane (CH4) concentration and temperature distributions were measured in a semiconductor process chamber using computed tomography-tunable diode laser spectroscopy (CT-TDLAS). A semiconductor chamber was designed with 32 laser-paths to collect the infrared spectrum of CH4 with tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy. Absorptions at wavelength of 1628.1 nm and 1653.7 nm were used to reconstruct CH4 concentration and temperature distributions using computed tomography (CT) calculations. The ...

A multi-level scenario simulation system as a safety infrastructure technology is required for design optimization, safety margin adjustment, and innovative technology developments of sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR). In order to properly implement the Verification and Validation (V & V) of the simulation system, it is indispensable to ensure experimental database of sodium chemistry as specific SFR safety issue. In this study, measurement results of aerosols generated by sodium-oxygen reaction ...
