The concentrations of minerals and trace elements in the Cayirhan oil shale (COS) (Beypazari, Ankara / Turkey) were determined by XRD and ICP-MS. Total organic carbon (TOC) content of COS was examined to have higher values (TOC 2.08%-23.29%, average 9.53%). The account of average shale enrichment factors of COS is determined to enrich the elements such as Mn, Mg, Pb, Si, Sr, Zr, K, Ca, Na, U, Ba, Cu, Ni, As, V, Co, Mo, Rb Fe, P, Ti, Sb and Cd, however, to consume the elements such as Cr and Zn. ...

Abstract In this study trace element and radioactive element contents of the Hatildag oil shale (HOS) in Turkey and geochemical processes controlling the deposition of these elements are investigated. Ratios of redox-sensitive elements show that HOS were formed in mostly dioxic-anoxic and partly euxinic conditions. ABSTRACTIn this study, geochemical behavior of elements is investigated in 25 coal samples collected at 10 locations of Şahinli coaliferous units at southeast of Aydin, Turkey. Abstract Cayirhan oil shales situated 100 km NW of Ankara were formed in the Hirka formation of the middle Miocene age. Studied samples were collected from bituminous shales of Middle Miocene Hirka Formation in Beypazari Basin.
